Washington Square West is one of the neighborhoods most affected by the "urban renewal" push of the '70s and '80s, so the contrast in housing types can be stark. Forty-year-old homes sit comfortably between 140-year-old homes, and much of the older housing stock has been converted to condos. It always makes for a good House Crawl™.
